Swap your regular butter for a sweet spread that's perfect for Fall! This Slow Cooker Pear Butter recipe is so delicious and perfectly sweetened by Harry & David Pears. There are also hints of vanilla bean for an extra touch of sweetness.

Bypass regular butter and whip up this sweet spread instead. This fall favorite pear butter is great stirred into oatmeal, Greek yogurt, or cottage cheese. It's also a wonderful spread over pancakes or dolloped on top of frozen yogurt. Maybe even try it over almond butter on toast. This pear butter is so versatile and delicious, you really can't go wrong. It's perfect for breakfast, brunch spreads, or when you're in the need for a sweet treat. It's perfect any time of day! The great thing about this pear butter as well is that it can be served either hot or cold, which means there are so many ways to enjoy it. This will definitely become a new Fall favorite!

Slow Cooker Pear Butter

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 pounds (about 6) large ripe pears, such as Bartlett or Royal Riviera Pears, peeled, cored, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp raw sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean

Instructions

  1. Place the pears in a slow cooker and sprinkle brown sugar and raw sugar on top.
  2. Cut the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and scrape the seeds into the slow cooker. Stir well and add the vanilla bean pod halves.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, stirring once halfway, until the pears are tender and dark brown.
  4. Uncover, remove the vanilla pod halves, and purèe with an immersion blender.
  5. Cook on high, uncovered, for 3 hours, and stir occasionally until thickened.
  6. Serve warm or cold.
  7. The pear butter will keep well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for at least 1 week. Enjoy!
