"If this cheesecake is going to a true cheesecake lover, don't waste your money. This cheesecake is very bland and dry. The actual cheesecake portion was so dry, it was in crumbles when cut. The crust was more of a thick, dense, damp bread texture. If you're craving a delicious cheesecake, this one will only disappoint your palette and leave you wishing for a real cheesecake."

this one is just more sour than usual. It doesn't have
that good cheese cake taste. The graham cracker
crust is the worst part of the cake though. It has so

"I was thinking that I was ordering the H&D original cheesecake, and this is not it. Since I think the original is the best there is, this one is good, but not great. The crust is thicker and I thought grainy with sugar. The crust is too sweet. The texture of the NY version is typical for NY style, more crumbly and drier than the creamier and smoother original. Overall, it's a good cheesecake, and we have enjoyed having it during the holidays. But what I want, and will order in the future, is the orginal cheesecake. I think all others pale in comparison."

"I bought this H&D New York Style Cheesecake in my local H&D store. It's really hard to find a shortbread crust cheesecake and was excited that I found this. Unfortunately it was not creamy and somewhat crumbly. It lacked flavor it was almost like attempting to eat a bar of cream cheese. I wish you would stop changing the recipes of your already wonderful products. People will pay for quality. I would rather have a small cheesecake ozing with flavor than a large cheesecake which well, taste bad."

"Wonderful addition to our Christmas dessert option. We added a caramel cinnamon pecan sauce and all of the guests thought it tasted home made. It arrived perfect. The texture was creamy and smooth."

"We've been getting a cheesecake for years from my sister and brother-in-law. I was surprised at the size of the cheesecake this year, it was much bigger. As they say bigger is not always better, and that's the case with this cheesecake. Very disappointed with the taste. Really not what you expect in a cheesecake, especially from Harry and David. Somebody needs to re-think this product. Not good!!"

"Both Cliffs and my family live over 150 miles away from us so we don't do much on the holidays. We've made our own little tradition up that we love and makes our day "richer". We each get the greatest dessert, one that we hardly would touch because it's so "rich" in content and calories. This year mine was a large cheese cake and Cliff loves fruit cake - good fruit cake so I ordered them from Harry and David. Unfortunately the order came early and both of us weakened and ate our Christmas treats. Oh well, we'll just have to order something else and carry on our delicious tradition once again!!!!"

"I was a long time buyer of Harry's Original Cheesecake and felt it was the best I'd ever eaten, simply perfect. However, for various reasons I decided not to buy any for a few years, but returned this November with a purchase. And was I ever disappointed. Harry's Original Cheesecake is not, repeat NOT, Harry's Original Cheesecake. The crust appears to be much thicker and the cake itself simply doesn't compare to what it used to be; I threw away half of it because I simply couldn't justify all that cholesterol for a sub-par dessert. I expect some numbers crunchers have decided to reduce the cost of the ingredients in the cooking of the cheesecake but who knows? I would love to know what recipe changes have been made in the cheesecake. In any event, don't expect a cake like you used to buy."

"This cheesecake went over very well at a holiday dinner party. Everyone agreed that it was above average in flavor and texture. I served it plain. No other garnishment was needed, as the quality and taste of the cake stood on their own. It is very small, so I wouldn't recomment it for more than 5 or 6 guests maximum."
