Fruit Cake Confection, 1½ lbs.
If you've ever tasted one, you know that our Fruit Cake Confection – made from our original 1947 recipe – is loaded with plenty of premium whole cherries, sweet golden pineapple, crisp English walnuts and Southern pecans. The ingredients are so delicate, the batches so small, each confection is individually formed by hand. The fruit's gently folded with just enough light golden batter to hold it all together for easy slicing.

"Not what I was expecting, and not sure if I would order it again. I was the only one in the immediate family who even kind of liked it. Some extended family tried some, but I had to take it to work to have help finishing it. And it's not like this was a huge "fruit cake.""

"My parents always had one of H&D's Fruitcake Confections for Christmas, usually opened for Christmas breakfast. It was the only way my father would eat candied fruit, and the only fruitcake I've ever really liked. I try to carry on that tradition. I love the fact that this item is basically large chunks of fruit and nuts held together by the tiniest bit of cake. It keeps well, ships well, and there are *never* any leftovers beyond New Years (if it's not all gone before then). It came in 3 days by FedEx. When I said, "I didn't expect this so soon," the FedEx guy replied, deadpan, "Would you like me to take it back and hold it for a few days, ma'am?" hehe Lovely experience all around!"

"I ordered this item for the first time this year. I normally order the fruit cake, but there was none available. The fruit cake confections is sweet and delicious, with hug pieces of fruits and walnuts all over it. There is just a thin layer of cake on the bottom. My only comment is that I would like alittle more cake.
But it was delicious and perfect for serving to guests or friends that drop by during the holiday!"

"Really - do NOT compare this to the much-maligned, dried-out fruitcake. It's a wonderful mass of sweet, dried fruit held together with the tiniest bit of cake. I have to have one every Christmas now. My guests always laugh until they taste it."

"This product was not at all what I expected it to be. I thought it would be more like a cookie. It was hard to eat because it was sticky and it would break up when you tried to pick it up. There was not enough dough to hold it together. I cannot complain about the amount of fruit and nuts because it was just a round glob of them with just enough sticky dough to make it impossible to enjoy. I feel that with more dough this would have been delicious."

"Read positive reviews so ordered and was very disappointed. There was not much flavor and it had an oily taste. Did not taste fresh. Maybe I just ordered too late. Received it right before Christmas. Royal Riviera Pears still our favorite!"
