"The Royal Riviera Pears are EXCEPTIONAL.
I treat myself and others whenever I can. Each pear comes wrapped in tissue and packed in individual compartments in a protective box. I have never received one damaged in any way.
The information contained in the box allowed me to make sure my pears were at the peak of perfection for me to eat and provided suggestions to keep them fresh, as well as recipe suggestions. Trust me, once they became ripe, they didn't last long.
Don't try to compare them to those you might get at the grocery store. There is no comparison. Grocery store pears are typically bruised, mealy and flavorless. ROYAL RIVIERA PEARS ARE A TREAT FOR YOUR TASTE BUDS! No joke!
I have in the past ordered the 'Fruit of the Month' for someone and it contained one 'over ripe' peach. When I called just to let them know, I was surprised to receive replacement of an entire box! THERE IS NO BETTER GUARANTEE!
Whether sending something from Harry and David to yourself or a friend, you will be glad you did."

"I purchased a number of boxes of pears. Among them was the 2-box order of Royal Riviera Pears. At this price I knew I could not go wrong, and I was right. Delivery was said to be made "in January 2012". Several people received theirs early, and in perfect condition, and are thrilled with the product. Mine also arrived early, December 28th, but I was out of town so when I was able to get them on January 3 they had a few brown spots on them. The company replaced the product without hesitation. Since my order is the only one of the 6 which had any problems! I love Harry and David because of their expectations of perfect customer satisfaction, their attention to detail and their prompt resolution of any issues."

"I buy gift boxes each year for family & friends, and I always add a box or two of these fabulous pears for myself. Have been doing so for many years, and they are always wonderful. You must follow the instructions for the proper ripening. I usually have to eat them off a plate with a knife and fork because they are really that juicy! Far and away the best pears I have ever eaten!"

"This is the second time ordering this season and this order I received 12 huge pears. The description said there would be 14 to 24 pears. I wish I had received more of the smaller pears than 12 of the huge ones. The first order had one box of the large ones and one box of the regular size. I would prefer the smaller ones. I don't really don't want to eat such a large pear at a time."

"I Received a Replacement Box of Pears Today,,, (Sooner than Expected),, and I have Already Opened the Box,,, and I have Looked at All the Pears,, And I can tell you right Now,,, They LOOK BETTER than the Last Ones I got over a week ago,, Yes,, there are a Few Little Spots on some of the Pears,, But I expect that,, Because they are Fruit,, and again,, They LOOK BETTER...But it will take about 2 to 3 days for them to get Ripe,, I can’t wait to Bite into them,, Because, the Juice will spring forth like a Fountain of Pure Pear Juice, that you can Not keep it from Running Down the sides of your mouth (on the outside),,, from the BEST Pears on Earth. And Then I can taste, that GREAT TASTE of Harry & David GREAT PEARS !!!

"My second order of the season. The pears in December were smaller and took a bit to ripen, but these came in giant and ready to eat in just a couple of days. I slowed the ripening of the second box by putting them in the fridge. I just never get tired of these. I love turning people onto them and watching them fall in love as they take their first bite."

"I have enjoyed these fabulous pears over the Christmas holidays for the past few years. This time I ordered more pears after Christmas, in fact, two separate orders ----in January and in February---hoping to enjoy the same delicious fruit. the problem with these later pears is that the skin is very tough. Inside it's the same juicy, sweet texture and taste. but the outside of the fruit, the skin, especially in this last February order, is like thick paper or cardboard. I won't be tempted to order pears after Christmas again."
