"Have been a fan of the pears and peaches sending to family/friends/self several time annually. This last shipment could not have been any more disappointing. I had ordered Royal Rivera pears...a family favorite...all 4 boxes were substituted for "Taylor's Gold Pears". Tasty yet shipped much to ripe necessitating passing them out to any one entering the house. Peaches lacked the usual delightful taste.A true disappointment that I have never experienced from Harry/David."

"They are just delicious. I have brought them for my family, my coworkers, my professor and many others.
Everyone I know had them before love H&D's Pears. Just don't ship them to the office for yourself. I shipped two boxes last week to my work for myself, but everyone want to have one. To the end, I have none for myself. What a shame.

"I've purchased H&D Pears for several years and normally they are the best available. This last order is the worst pears I've ever tried to eat. Mushy, stringy centers, and small in size, not sweet and texture not pleasing to the pallet at all. I don't know where they came from, but they are sure not up to your normal standards. I hesitate to order more until the new crops are in. and will do so reluctantly then."

I too love H&D's pears and must have had 5 boxes between December and February. The last 2 boxes I ordered were not anywhere near the other ones I had earlier which was a shame since one was a gift given before I tried my second box. Normally the pears are to die for! I think they should not sell the pears that are past the season. Even discounted, if the quality is not there, it's not worth it. I sincerely hope they have tasters before selling late season pears. But I am a fan and will be ordering again end of month as they get their pears from Chile. I really hope they are as good as the Oregon ones!

"There can be no denying thet the rivera pears are lucious, but I have now learned for sure that when they are not grown in this country the skin is like leather and MUST be pealed off. A disappointment when the American product is totally edible."
