"Received as a gift. The pears were good while the apples were not crisp or flavorful. The product description is a bit misleading. The assorted extras were an odd mix--a small bag of almonds, an even smaller cellophane bag of dried fruit and a nice bag of granola.
This gift basket resembled something from your grocer's specialty section rather than Harry & David, with the exception of the wonderful pears.
As serious H & D customers, this is the only product that was disappointing."

"I can't speak for the gifts I sent this year, but I can comment on the Harry and David gifts I personally received from others. I must say I was somewhat disappointed. In the past the fruits have been spectacular. Perfectly ripened, sweet, very good. This year, the fruit I received was consistently mediocre. The pears were as if they had been frozen or something, they just weren't right. I willing to give H and D another try though because they were so good in the past. If they don't turn out this time though, I don't think I'll purchase from them again."

"I have enjoyed everything in the basket just finished up pears but still have the apples and almonds and some of the mix left. I got to choose which gift I wanted and I like this one as I can eat everything .
Some have things made of sugar and that I can't have.Enjoy using the basket afterwards, it really handy"

"Received as an apology from a business. I love Harry and David items, so I was won over and apologies were accepted.
My only comment is about the Crater Lake Crunch included in the basket. I must have gotten an old package, because the granola was chewey - not crunchy, and the banana chips had no flavor at all. Actually the only item in the entire mix with any flavor were the blueberries. I was looking for an expiration date on the package, and there is some number stamped on it, but it is smudged and unreadable - maybe that's why it was not pulled from stock when it might have expired? The only other marking is a sticker on the back that says 1591 SF MSD1. Not sure it that helps, but it may prevent you from dispensing this to others.
Also included was the double crunch granola - now that rocks!!!"

"I had this sent to my dad for Father's Day and he loved it. He called me the day it arrived and said the packaging was nice and appealing. The apples and pears weren't quite ripe. There were directions included on determining ripeness and fruit storage. He's a healthy eater and loved the assortment of snacks."

"After sending the Original Fruit Basket, my husband and I received a phone call from our Uncle. He was very grateful and went on and on about how nice the fruit basket was. He even loved the dry fruit that was in it even though he stated that he normally doesn't like dry fruit because it's usually too hard. He also liked the basket and told us that his wife had ideas for it's use when it's empty. He has received Moose Munch in the past, but really loved the fruit basket."
